Packet Media was formed in April 2002 and started life as a VoIP network linking Docklands Telehouse Internet exchange to GSM Gateways located at regional airport sites. The network terminated carrier mobile traffic, inbound to the UK as IP data, on to the four UK GSM mobile networks. In November 2003 the company changed business focus to provide local fixed-to-mobile solutions from a range of GSM Gateway equipment.
In December 2009 Packet Media purchased MX Digital and today Packet Media provides multi-media Contact Centre solutions either on premises or hosted. In addition they provide billing analysis, cost management solutions, managed services, site survey, equipment supply, installation and mobile network connectivity plus maintenance and support.
Packet Media acts as an advisor to customers on technology or solutions that will provide operational or budgetry benefits. Packet Media can develop and integrate with existing systems as well as introduce and expand new solutions and processes. Their multi-media Hosted Call Centre, Hosted Dialler and Hosted IP-PBX solutions include ACD, Predictive / Progressive / Preview Diallers, IVR, Call / Voice Recording & Quality Monitoring, Email Management, Web Self-Service & Knowledge-base solutions, Hosted IP-PBX Telephony Systems and Interactive Voice Messaging.
